More information on MINI Mobile Care.

Here, you’ll find more information about MINI Mobile Care, and the general conditions for free accident and breakdown cover.

The first thing to do in the event of a breakdown is call the MINI Breakdown Hotline.

National Hotline: [domestic number – markets]1

International Hotline: [international number – TBD by markets]2

You’ll need to give your vehicle details, your precise location, the cause and results of the breakdown (if known) and a phone number we can reach you on. MINI will then take care of the rest.

¹ [cost per hour] call from landlines.

² Call charges vary according to national telephone operator.

We can only reimburse costs that are agreed in advance with MINI Mobile Service.

In most cases, the cost of MINI Mobile Care services is covered directly by us. However, if you pay for anything yourself, we will reimburse it as quickly as possible. All we’ll need are the original receipts or invoices for the service in question (e.g. tow company) together with a copy of the invoice for the repair work.

Non-reimbursable costs

−  Costs that would have occurred under normal circumstances, e.g. fuel costs, toll charges, etc.

−  Additional hotel costs, e.g. for meals and mini bar bills.

−  Any costs or losses incurred as a direct or indirect result of the breakdown, such as loss of income, cancellation fees, missed engagements or events (e.g. tickets not used).

−  Repair costs and costs of spare parts and top-ups.

A breakdown is a malfunction in your vehicle that prevents you from continuing your journey.

MINI Mobile Care services can only be performed if the breakdown has not been caused by the driver or external factors. Exception: in the event of a flat tyre, we will provide services to the extent described above.

MINI Mobile Care services do not apply in case of:

−  Scheduled servicing, product recalls or other technical procedures
−  Accident, theft or vandalism and any resulting damage
−  Damage caused by deliberate or negligent behaviour
−  Damage caused during any driving event or practice session in which the aim is to reach the highest speed possible

MINI Mobile Care gives two years of comprehensive mobility services for new cars registered on or after 1 January 2011 according to the conditions of the MINI Mobile Care guarantee.

Once the vehicle reaches its third year, it is up to you to continue or renew the MINI Mobile Care mobility guarantee – for up to five years. Each time you have your engine oil service carried out at an authorised MINI Service Centre, your MINI Mobile Care mobility guarantee resets automatically for another 24 months, up to a maximum of five years from the date of initial registration. The due date of your next engine oil service is determined by your on-board computer based on driving style.

Once your MINI reaches its sixth year after registration, each engine oil service carried out by an authorised MINI Service Centre entitles you to sign up for free roadside assistance through MINI Service Mobile for anything from 24 months to the entire life of the vehicle.

All vehicles registered on or after 1 January 2011 can rejoin MINI Mobile Care following an engine oil service.

Having maintenance and repair work* done in non-authorised workshops does not stop services under MINI Mobile Care mobility guarantee.

All MINI Mobile Care services do however cease when loss of mobility occurs due to the inspection and maintenance intervals, as specified by the manufacturer, not being respected, or due to the fact that inspections, maintenance work and other repairs have been carried out by a non-authorised workshop.

*Including additional oil service if required.
