Here at MINI, we’re proud to be part of the Motability scheme, helping those living with a disability gain freedom through access to cars that are stylish and fun-to-drive cars, as well as affordable.
The Motability car scheme allows those who receive mobility allowance to exchange all, or part of it, to lease a car of their choice. You’ll find the full list of our Motability scheme cars further down this page.

BENEFITS OF CHOOSING THE MOTABILITY SCHEME.
When choosing a MINI through the car Motability scheme, you’ll be able to select a model that suits you, at a price that fits your budget too. Payments will be deducted from your allowance every four weeks, then paid directly to the Department for Work and Pensions or Veterans UK.

✓ Ability to nominate up to two drivers.
✓ A new MINI every three years which includes a 60,000 mileage allowance.
CHECKING IF YOU'RE ELIGIBLE.
You can use your payments received from any of the following to cover the monthly
rentals of a MINI over the next three years:
- The Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance.
- The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – please note: to be eligible for the PIP Motability car scheme, you need to be on the enhanced rate not standard rate.
- The War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS).
- The Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).

SIGNING UP TO THE MINI MOTABILITY SCHEME.
1. CHECK ELIGIBILITY
Your Motability eligibility will depend on whether you have at least 12 months left before your benefit ends. You’ll find this information on your benefit decision letter if you’re unsure.
2. GET DOCUMENTS READY
You’ll need your driving licence (both parts), proof of your address and your certificate of entitlement from the Department of Work and Pensions or Service Personnel and Veterans Agency.
3. VISIT A MINI CENTRE
Contact a MINI Centre to book an appointment with a Motability Sales Specialist who will assist you in your online Motability application.
