1. When washing your car, first clear as much dirt and grime as possible to ensure that nothing can scratch the paint. Then start from the top and work your way down. That way you’ll make the most of those suds.
2. It’s best to avoid washing your car in strong sunlight or high heat. If the forecast is set to be sunny, try to wash your MINI in the morning or late in the day once the sun isn’t as strong. 3. Remember to clean your windows both inside and out. It’s amazing how clean your car can look with a set of freshly scrubbed windows. We recommend using microfibre cloths. 4. Don’t miss the top of the window. Drop your windows a few inches to make sure you get the whole thing. 5. Hate watermarks? So do we. Dry your car with a fresh cloth after washing to avoid a streaky finish.
6. Wax on. Keep your paintwork tip top by applying wax after you’ve finished drying. That way you’ll also achieve a deep shine.   7. Protective rubber mats for your car’s footwell and boot are well worth the investment. They’re highly durable and will protect the floor of your MINI.
8. Use a soft paintbrush to dust out all of those awkward nooks in the car.
9. Don’t forget about your wheels. Use a brush to get in those tricky areas.

If your MINI picks up undesirable marks on the paintwork, like bird lime and insect residue remove, try to remove them as soon as you can using warm water, shampoo and a sponge. That way you’ll avoid causing damage to the finish. If left too long, you may find that you need to repair the area of paintwork so it matches the finish of the rest of the car.

You can help maintain a healthy battery by keeping to a few good battery health habits. Always switch off electrical components – like air conditioning, seat warmers, heated rear screen —  before you turn off the ignition. This means there won’t be an excessive load on the battery  when you next use your MINI.If possible, keep your car in a garage when it’s cold. Low temperatures make it harder for the engine to turn over, putting strain on the battery. Four easy tips to help extend your MINI Electric’s battery life.

Try to minimise exposure to extremely high temperatures when parked. The automated temperature control system installed will drain your battery to keep the temperatures down for optimal efficiency.

Try to minimise charging your battery to 100% state of charge. Even though a full charge will give you the maximum operating time, it is never a good idea for the overall lifespan of your battery. Keep the state of battery charge between 20-80%, unless of course you are going on a longer trip.

Try to minimise the use of rapid charging as it sends a huge current to the batteries in a short timeframe and can strain the battery over time. If you can, keep to slower charges, such as overnight.

Try to take your MINI for regular drives to maintain its overall health.
