On the agenda was the Government’s Road to Zero strategy, a long-term plan for 80% of all new cars sold to be zero-emission at the tailpipe by 2030.
Joining Alex were BMW Group UK and Ireland CEO, David George, Head of Government & External Affairs Tom Hollick, and Chief Sales Officer Ian Turner from Alphabet (GB). Together, they explored the detail behind the Government's Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate, including the proposed Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (a mileage-based tax) from 2028, and the real impact these policies are anticipated to have on the automotive sector.
