A DATE WITH HISTORY AT GOODWOOD REVIVAL 2021.

Between the 17-19 September, we celebrated the return of Goodwood Revival. Taking pole position in the automotive calendar, the event celebrated the golden era of British motor racing at its spiritual home, the Goodwood Motor Circuit. It was a great way to follow up our 2019 debut at the event, where attendees enjoyed a 1959 Classic MINI ad recreation and a UK introduction to the MINI Electric. As you’ll see below, this year at Earl’s Court was just as thrilling.

THE UK DEBUT OF THE MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS ANNIVERSARY EDITION.

Taking centre stage was the incredible new MINI John Cooper Anniversary Edition; a celebration of our six decades of collaboration with the iconic Cooper family. Those in attendance were in for a treat, enjoying its contrasting racing stripes and classic Cooper aesthetic. And for those lucky enough to get their mitts on one of the 60 models available in the UK, it’s a chance to drive a piece of MINI history.

STARS REVIVED THE GLORY OF GOODWOOD IN THE JOHN WHITMORE TROPHY.

A lineup of racing royalty, including Le Mans winners and ex-F1 drivers, put their guts and guile to the test in the John Whitmore Trophy race. The 30-strong lineup of iconic MINI cars saw our drivers battle over 45 minutes of slides and saves, with the pairing of Andrew Jordan and Nick Swift finishing victorious. The one-litre limit was no barrier to the speed of the grid, as the crowds saluted a weekend’s worth of drama and heroics.

CELEBRATING A HISTORIC LINEUP FOR MINI.

Attendees of the Goodwood Revival were able to enjoy a full display of MINIs past and future, from classics like the original 997cc Cooper MK1 to the modern MINI Electric. It was also a chance to show off our MINI Electric Pacesetter concept, as we work to change the pace of travel towards an electric future. As expected, after its debut at Goodwood’s Festival of Speed in July, it got hearts racing from the off with a stand-out look and peerless engineering performance.

We were delighted to see so many MINI explorers and enthusiasts at Earl’s Court, Goodwood Revival. It was a great opportunity to reflect on our history and take a glance ahead to our future as well, showing off MINIs past, present and future. Make sure you keep an eye on the calendar, so you can be part of the noise and nostalgia next year.
