From karaoke booths and personal PAs to driving schools, our MINI community prove their cars are so much more than a way to get from A to B. We got to know some of our community’s biggest fans as they shared their best MINI memories and moments.
A MINI of many talents.

From naming it ‘Taurus’ to crediting it as a place for ‘therapy’ and doubling as a karaoke booth, Michelle’s electric MINI is a true extension of her personality. “I love the fact that my MINI is my karaoke booth and that I can personalise it to reflect me”, she tells us, “And I love how I look forward to driving to work and long journeys.”
But that’s only half the story.
Michelle’s MINI also doubles as her PA, reminding her where she’s going, keeping her connected and even helping her warm up on frosty mornings. “I love how I can have a natter with it. It sends text messages, sorts out my journey, treats me like a princess and responds to my every command. It's like my personal PA that tells me what I'm doing and where I'm going.”
Who knew one car could wear so many hats?
A MINI for every milestone.

From their very first yellow MINI in 1994, to family road trips in their silver MINI Convertible, every MINI has been part of their family story.
“Mini has evolved over the past 23 years along with our family, it has never not suited our needs” says Pamela. One memory that still makes them smile was back in 2023, when a growing family meant finding the perfect buggy to fit in their new MINI.
“We had to buy a special buggy to fit in the boot. We shopped that way round to make it fit.”
So, what’s been their favourite model and how do they feel about MINI now? “My current Mini Cooper is my favourite car I’ve ever bought – it’s endlessly enjoyable” says John. “They are great cars” says Pamela, “you feel connected to them, there’s nothing quite like a Mini. It’s an iconic brand. We’re proud to be a little different and drive ours.”
Some things change over the years. Their love for MINI hasn’t.
A MINI with a work-life balance.

For Brian, MINI isn’t just part of everyday life, it’s part of his working life too.
As the owner of Adventure MINI Driving School, he’s introduced hundreds of learner drivers to life behind the wheel of a MINI. And when he’s not helping new drivers build their confidence, he’s sharing his own love of MINI with his family.
“It’s like being part of a club. Both of my kids had old MINIs of mine. I usually use them for four years, then give them to the kids. My daughter recently sold a 66 plate with 160,000 miles on it still going strong. My son’s got a 70 plate with 130,000 miles that’s still going strong too.”
Whether it’s helping learners pass their test or handing his own MINIs down to his children, Brian has spent years sharing the MINI feeling.
A MINI FOR EVERY OCCASION.

For Diane, where there’s a life stage, there’s a MINI to match.
“Since buying my first MINI, I’ve only ever owned MINIs since. I seem to be able to find a MINI which suits every stage of my life.”
Her first MINI, a metallic blue MINI Cooper Convertible, was more than just fun to drive. It also helped transport a drum kit when she worked as a music teacher.
“People found it so funny to see the drumkit strapped in the back with the roof down as we were driving.”
As her family grew, Diane opted for a Clubman, which was perfect for a pram. These days, her MINI Cooper 5-door Exclusive is the perfect fit for family life.
MINI has become a family affair too.
“My best friend and sister-in-law have MINIs, and my husband’s going to get a Countryman soon. When they come round, it’s so nice to have all the MINIs on the drive together.”
One of Diane’s favourite MINI memories was at her wedding day, when she chose MINIs over traditional wedding cars.
“I was looking for wedding cars to transport us to and from the church but none of the traditional cars I was finding were as nice as the Convertible I had at the time.
We didn’t have a big wedding entourage, so we decided to hire a few MINIs along with my MINI and a few friends’ MINIs. We put champagne in the cup holders for people to have a drink and got photos of me sat on the top of the MINI in my wedding dress.
It was so special to have a line of MINIs all driving together to our wedding and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
MINI has been there for the moments that matter most.
A MINI PASSION.
Wendy Derby.
More than twenty years ago, Wendy’s MINI journey began with a Chilli Red MINI One.
“I felt so lucky to be in the position to own one as they were not long launched and so different from the normal run-of-the-mill cars everyone else was driving.”
She hasn’t looked back since.
Over the years she’s owned everything from MINI Cooper Convertibles to the two MINIs she drives today, Winston and Fudge. She still remembers the built-in wind deflector on her convertibles, calling it “one of the best inventions for keeping the wind down, particularly with a knee-length dress on.” Today, her MINI John Cooper Works is her “little pocket rocket”, while her MINI Countryman with red and black accents reflect her love of making each MINI her own.
“Each MINI I’ve owned feels like a little personality. I love that there are so many different options available to personalise your MINI to your individual taste, like tri-coloured roofs and chrome or black stripes.”
Her passion for MINI didn’t stop with the cars. Six years ago, Wendy went to the second meet of the Northern Ireland MINI Meets (NIMM) and is now one of the four admin members of the group where members regularly come together for road trips, social meets, car shows and charity events.
Wendy fell in love with MINI and found a community to go with it.
