A lot has changed in the world of MINI since Paddy Hopkirk stormed the 1964 Monte Carlo rally. But something that remains forever unchanged is our challenger spirit. Our boldness. Our tenacity. So we decided to build a MINI in celebration of that spirit, of that ultimate MINI challenger moment – Paddy Hopkirk’s first Monte Carlo victory (there were another two after that, just in case you don’t know).
Meet the Paddy Hopkirk Special Edition MINI Cooper S, complete with exclusive and unique design features. And when we say special edition, we mean it; we only have 100 of these available in the UK.
THE SPIRIT OF A CHALLENGER.
When 31-year-old Paddy and his plucky MINI rally car won the Monte Carlo rally in 1964, the automotive world was stunned. No one anticipated just how well his nimble car would handle The Turini (a winding downhill night stage). But that’s where he clinched it. It’s one of the most inspiring moments in our history, and one that continues to inspire everything we do today.
THE LOOK OF A CHAMPION.
Just like Paddy’s 1964 rally car, this special edition’s main body colour is red. Chili Red, to be exact. And it’s set off with a white contrasting roof and wing mirrors, as well a black bonnet scoop, 17” Track Spoke alloys, and a jet black MINI badge. The bold ‘37’ you see on the side pays homage to Paddy’s original rally car too. A single white bonnet stripe isn't the only sporty feature of this special edition, but a totally unique one too. Look a little closer and you’ll see Paddy Hopkirk’s autograph printed inside.
