MINI X DEUS EX MACHINA: DESIGN THAT DARES.

‘You can be first after me.’ That’s the motto uniting MINI and Deus Ex Machina. And between you and us, we think it’s fair enough. Motorsport-loving lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina champions creative innovation and bold design. So when the chance to collaborate came up, we had to go for it with gusto.
It’s our absolute pleasure to present two completely one-offs from MINI John Cooper Works: Machina and The Skeg.

TWO LEGENDS, TWO ROADS TAKEN.
Built as a pair, the MINI JCW x Deus concept cars have the same spirit but channel different energy – figuratively and literally. The Skeg is based on MINI JCW Electric and inspired by the coast, while Machina is a revamped combustion-powered JCW and forged by the track. Both are undeniably athletic, born from that John Cooper Works sporting DNA. Deus Ex Machina has taken that race-inspired edge and reimagined it through their own creative lens. Stamping their style with a large, white X on the roof of both cars.
THE SKEG.
Instant oomph. That’s what a MINI JCW Electric gives you – just like surfing. Drawing on the freedom of the waves, Deux Ex Machina has created nothing short of a masterpiece.
With its fearless yellow and silver finish, The Skeg lands a bold first impression. Elements like the fiberglass panes and Flex Tip Surf Spoiler up the performance, refining aerodynamics and responding to airflow like a surfer would the contours of a wave. Tension straps are a nod to that anticipation you get from finally tying your board to your car. A vibe that’s only enhanced when you get inside. Because it really is like a mobile surf shop in there…

THE MACHINA.
This is a champion. Loud, lean and packed with power, Deus Ex Machina have taken the MINI JCW and put their own spin on this athletic icon. From the off, the striking red, white and black paintwork makes it all-eyes on the Machina. Then there’s the revamps. Elements like the bespoke grille and spoiler boost performance. Style-wise, they’re celebrating racing eras that pushed design and engineering into groundbreaking territory.
Inside, the Machina makes the impossible feel possible. Pure innovation. Pure sport.
A FEW WORDS FROM THE HEAD OF DESIGN.
"In this extraordinary collaboration, we showcase two vehicles that remind us of motorsport history and successes of MINI. Every single detail has been crafted with artisanal precision and expertise. This has resulted in unique characters that are clearly perceived as belonging together through their distinctive design language and use of graphics," says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

INNOVATION, AMPLIFIED.
This MINI x Deus Ex Machina collab shows what’s possible when great thinkers come together to leave doubt in the dust. It’s exciting. And it’s a partnership that’s already moved into the world of fashion, with the apparel collection having launched in Sept 2025. Who knows what’s next, but we’d recommend staying in the know.
