CIRCULARITY

RE:THINK, RE:DUCE, RE:USE, RE:CYCLE.

MINI Vehicle Footprint - Circular Economy

We stick to these principles to conserve natural resources. That way, high-quality materials will remain in circulation for longer. That’s why we use secondary materials in new components. We’re also increasing the recyclability of components through the design process and in during product development.

The MINI Countryman C secondary material supplier records and average industry values are used to calculate the values below, at the start of production in 2023. The figure includes production residues

SECONDARY MATERIALS ARE TO BE FOUND IN A BROAD RANGE OF AREAS OF THE MINI COUNTRYMAN:

  • Secondary Aluminum in the Wheels: approx. 70 %
  • Plastics in the luggage compartment trim panel: approx. 90 %
  • Plastics in the luggage compartment removable panel: approx. 60 %

Depending on the material, the use of secondary materials can make a major contribution to reducing the our CO2e footprint.

RECYCLABILITY OF THE MINI COUNTRYMAN.

In relation to the entire vehicle, at least 85% of materials are recycled and, including thermal utilisation, at least 95% as stipulated by legal requirements (European End-of-Life Vehicles Directive ELV 2000 /53 /EC). And, in accordance with current regulations, we also currently take back and recycle used vehicles at over 2,800 redemption points in 30 countries.
