MINI SHINES AT THE GREAT BRITISH EV RALLY.
Returning at this year’s Great British EV Rally with a ready-to-go refreshed line-up, MINI flew the flag for capability, practicality and range. From 1st to 5th September, we proudly demonstrated the latest innovations and driving technology from our all-electric line up, boasting more standard features than ever.
ROAD TO ZERO.
Hosted by GreenFleet, the rally champions the shift to zero-emission transport through sustainable fleet solutions. Spanning more than 1,000 miles over five days, the event saw teams from across the fleet, logistics and automotive sectors drive a diverse range of electric vehicles. Travelling from Newquay in Cornwall to Tatton Park in Knutsford, they stopped at designated check points along the way.
One of Team MINI’s drivers was Michelle Breffitt, co-founder of the group "Women Drive Electric" which helps people who don’t usually talk cars, make the switch to electric. Michelle, who owns a MINI Aceman, was a pleasure to host on the rally and a true champion of electric motoring. You can find out more about Women Drive Electric here.
SPACE AND PACE.
MINI opted to bring along its top EV choices for corporate partners: the all-electric MINI Aceman SE and all-electric the MINI Countryman SE ALL4. The long journey was no sweat for these two, with up to 252 miles of range for the MINI Aceman SE, and up to 269 miles of range for the the MINI Countryman SE ALL4.
Overnight stops meant the need for extra luggage space, so the MINI Aceman SE was the perfect solution with its 1,005 litres of boot space with the seats folded down. Given the infamous British weather, the the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 was up to the job, with its 313hp and ALL4 all-wheel drive. Its 1450 litres of boot space with folded seats, roof rails and optional tow bar came in handy, too.
CLEVER KIT FOR AN EASY RIDE.
The positivity and team spirit of the EV rally was the ideal opportunity for MINI to demonstrate the innovative technology featured in our latest EV models. We used charge-optimised route planning and saved time by pre-planning our routes via the MINI apps for optimum efficiency.
With such long distances, the team loved the optional advanced driver assistance features for an easy ride. Active Cruise Control automatically regulated the distance to the vehicle in front, keeping things smooth with lane keeping assist.
