BIG LOVE FOR OUR LATEST TINY FOREST.
As part of our Big Love mission to make a difference, we joined forces with Earthwatch Europe to plant Tiny Forests in urban spots across the country. While only the size of tennis courts, these wild spaces are each cleverly packed with hundreds of native trees – to attract urban wildlife and give people a relaxing spot to enjoy, with no need for loads of space or maintenance.
From Oxford to Bradford, there are now over 150 Tiny Forests (and counting) across the UK. We’ve helped to plant 14 of them over the last couple of years – including a brand-new forest in lovely Warwickshire. Read on for more.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK.
It was all hands on deck during the final day of the planting season, which saw the latest Tiny Forest spring up in Coleshill, Warwickshire – just a stone’s throw from the Hams Hall BMW Group Plant, where the legendary BMW TwinPower Turbo engines are built.
Team members from the plant and MINI UK pulled on their gardening gloves and got stuck in, joined by local residents and pupils from the nearby High Meadow Community Primary School. Between them, they planted a whopping 600 trees on the carefully chosen plot of land. These densely packed trees now help to block out noise from a nearby road, giving the Coleshill community a gloriously green, serene and wildlife-rich space to relish. Now that’s what Big Love’s all about.
